Chiama sottovoce..

“Between one sound and another I look for the space of a gesture, touching borders that on one side are music on the other arm, head, legs.”

How nice it would be to make the sound “suspension” and the silence “stability”. Reverse the role of someone who is “pause.” Opening a gateway to richness where one normally thinks there is stillness, quiet, rest.

Where is there more movement? On which side of this barrier can it be dance?

The univocal association of sound / movement, silence / stillness is a cultural chasm of inexpressive conformity.

My body whispers, it doesn’t scream. Call softly ..

To hear it, I have to stop everything.

Speaks softly because it doesn’t want to be heard by me, by me alone.

And even if to begin with I have to stop, to thin my ear a little, then I must necessarily give it my body, my movement.

And here music and silence coexist.

I can no longer say where a sound begins or ends,

but I know for sure there is music.

I know for sure there is silence.

I know for a fact that this is my dance.

CONTACT SILENCE

CONTACT SILENCE retreats is a social promotion project of LIBERA MENTE APS association

We firmly believe that contact improvisation holds great potential on a social and communicative level and carries within it an unequivocal educational message. In addition to being the vanguard of the natural and authentic movement, it teaches respect for one’s body and the other, nourishing the fundamental need of the human being to physical contact, gives joy and well-being to those who practice it, reconnects man to his creativity and the primordial dimension of the game.
